Engaged Senior Hoteliers on Innovation at Hotel Management Thailand Summit

Bangkok (Thailand) – June 2, 2017 (travelindex.com) – The 4th annual Hotel Management Thailand Summit(HMT), organized by international conference producer Questex Hospitality Group, concluded on May 25, 2017 after welcoming over 25 international speakers and over 120 delegates at the Banyan Tree Bangkok.

Themed, Inspire Viable Strategies to Boost Revenue and Profit for Vibrant Hoteliers, the closed-door forum allowed delegates to further discuss growth, innovation, and the post-merger competitive landscapes of Bangkok and various key markets as well as focusing on ramifications and strategies to excel for hoteliers working for chains and independents alike.

Victoria Foster, Content Director, TW: Academy, TrendWatching, kicked off the Summit with the topic entitled: Consumer Trends Shaping the Future of Travel.

From start to finish, six interactive panel discussions were staged by veteran hoteliers and subject-matter experts in various fields. The key topics of these thought-provoking sessions include boosting profitability through rate growth and cost control; leveraging future-looking demand intelligence to drive better revenue and stronger competitive position; The search for the prime channel distribution mix; Rethinking value propositions and competitiveness of Hotel restaurants and bars; Modernizing recruitment processes to attract, retain, and develop the right talents for future growth; and, hotel operators should be more prudent when entering into management agreements.

Being a speaker or a panelist, it gives you a great opportunity to interchange ideas, listen to other people’s opinions, and especially for me as a CEO, within my own group, sometimes I listen to my own words too much. So getting from my peers as well, I find it interesting, said Jonathan Wigley, CEO, Absolute Hotel Services. Wigley has been attending HMT for the past three years.

I like things where it’s going on in other parts of the industry as opposed to directly going to the hotels, said Symon Bridle, Group COO, Rosewood Hotel Group. So if we can learn from those things, I think it’s important. Plus it’s also good to get something on new trends. These might not be things that you’re dealing with today, but they are things that are coming to you tomorrow. We have to be aware of these changes and what expectations are in the future.

HMT Summit 2017 is part of the Hotel Management Asia summit Series, Asia’s only truly regional hotel management conference series. The series will rotate through Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Indonesia this year by leveraging regional experiences, insights, and innovations to address market-specific challenges.
