Prestigious Golf Awards for Kenya

Nairobi (Kenya) – November 16, 2015 (travelindex) – During the World Golf Awards Gala Ceremony held last Saturday the 7th of November at the Conrad in the Algarve in Portugal, Muthaiga Golf Club won the award as the best Golf Course in Kenya, The Great Rift Valley Lodge and Golf Resort the award as the best Golf Hotel in Kenya and Tobs Kenya Golf Safaris the award for the best Inbound Golf Tour Operator.

World Golf Awards™ serves to celebrate and reward excellence in golf tourism through their annual awards programme. World Golf Awards™ is part of World Travel Awards™ and these awards will go a long way in promoting Kenya as a superb Golf Destination. In that respect the KGU has formed a Tourism Committee, with the objective to attract 30.000 golfers per year to Kenya. The Chairman of this committee, Tobs Cohen states: “ We are all very proud with these awards. While Muthaiga Golf Club is not only my home club, but also the venue of the 4th edition of the Kenya Golf Trophy, The Great Rift Valley Lodge is part of our golf tourism circuit and sponsor of the JW Seagon Bupa Kenya Golf Trophy. These awards strengthen us to continue marketing Kenya as only one of 2 Sub-Sahara Golf Destinations nominated for these awards.

Nairobi is truly the Golf Capital of East and Central Africa with 14 excellent golf courses in around the county. Nairobi City County realizes this tourism potential and just like the Kenya Tourism Board are sponsoring the JW Seagon Bupa Kenya Golf Trophy together with an amazing of 21 hotels providing 33 prizes for this huge corporate amateur golf event, to be held Friday the 13th of November 2015 at Muthaiga Golf Club. While most slots are taken by the 33 sponsors, post entries are still available at Ksh 10.000 per player.
