Care for Cancer Fun Run 2016
Bangkok (Thailand) – January 9, 2016 (travelindex) – Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel (formerly Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok) is proud to carry on their effort made over 20 years ago in organizing this annual event to raise funds for cancer research.
Under the theme “I care b’coz….”, this charitable event allows supporter and participants to share and express how cancer touches our lives in different ways. In association with the Thai Red Cross Society and with the support of the Canadian Embassy, the working committee at Anantara Siam Bangkok is organizing ‘Care for Cancer’ charity fun run at Lumpini Park on Saturday, 6 February 2016. The proceed this year will be donated to the ‘Genetic Cancer Research Center’ at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital under the auspices of The Thai Red Cross Society.
Beginning and ending inside the Lumpini Park, the Run promises to be a fun and enjoyable Saturday outing for families, joggers and health enthusiasts of all ages. Both the 5 km and 10 km routes are perfect for running, walking or strolling at your own pace. Families with young children as well as the elderly are welcome to join the morning with various activities and prizes awaiting them. To add more excitement to the run, a Queen’s trophy will be awarded to the largest participating group. The first male and female runners who reach the finishing line of the 5 km and 10 km, will also win a prize. Not to forget the youngest runner whose effort to join will certainly be recognized. Registration is from 7:30 am to 8:15 am and the official starting time is at 8:30 am.
All are invited to participate in the run with a minimum donation of Baht 350 representing the cost of an official ‘Care for Cancer’ t-shirt or Baht 500 for polo shirt which will entitle you to a breakfast box and the chance to win exciting prizes such as accommodation vouchers at various Anantara Hotels & Resorts and many others.
Two other exciting events will be organized at the hotel in conjunction with the fun run to raise more funds for cancer research: renowned Canadian chef, Cameron Stauch will prepare dishes paired with select wines at a Canadian Culture & Gourmet Dinner which will be held on Wednesday, January 27 from 7:00 pm onwards and the 9th Clutter Sale, a one-day event with treasure trove bargains, to be organized by the NewsMakers, comprising of senior editors, communications and public relations professionals on Sunday, March 13 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
