Belt and Road Initiative, the New Dynamics of Cultural Tourism
Macau (Macau SAR China) – August 20, 2015 (travelindex.com) – Following the thought-provoking theme of “Maritime Silk Road, From Macau We Begin” in 2014, Global Tourism Economy Forum (GTEF) 2015 will build upon the concept of “Belt and Road Initiative”, a regional economic integration plan advocated by China.
With 2015 being the 10th Anniversary of the Historic Centre of Macau as inscribed under UNESCO World Heritage, there is no better time than this year to join us at GTEF to engage in discussions and exchanges about the interconnection between tourism economy and cultural tourism.
Forum programme highlights:
– Face to Face, Ministers and Private Sector CEOs – Abridging our Distances through Connectivity (in collaboration with UNWTO)
– Technical Presentation on Joint Research Project of UNWTO and GTERC – Market Analysis of Asia Tourism Trends, Highlighting the Pacific Alliance, and the Linkage between City Tourism and Culture
– Understanding Chinese Consumers Behavior and Chinese Overseas Investment (Presented by Bank of America Merrill Lynch)
– Exploring the Full Dimension of Cultural Tourism – Cultural Heritage and Creative Living Culture (Presented by GTEF media partner)
– Driving Cultural Awareness through Social Media (Presented by PATA & Connecting Travel)
About the Global Tourism Economy Forum
With its 3-year proven track record as a dynamic and pragmatic platform that promotes Sino-Western economic ties, GTEF will feature The Pacific Alliance (Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru) as its partner region this year and explore how to capitalize on the growing ties and prospects with this region, specifically in the fields of tourism and related services.
GTEF took on the role of a trailblazer and led a 30-member delegation of Chinese tourism enterprises to visit The Pacific Alliance countries in June 2015, promoting the “One-Trip-Multiple-Stops” concept, and successfully achieved its mission of connecting with the public and private sectors of the region, exploring the region’s market potential and business opportunities, gaining up-close and personal experience of the region’s cultures and heritage, and inviting the region’s stakeholders to GTEF 2015 to continue the dialogues and exchanges on tourism and trade.
